ABOUT US

The Wildlife Conservation and Prevention Organization (WCPO) is a non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia under Prakas No. 2080, dated April 6, 2020.As part of our commitment to wildlife conservation and protection, WCPO signed a Project Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on February 1, 2021. This collaboration supports our efforts to care for wildlife and contribute to wildlife protection and animal health in Cambodia.

our work

WCPO is a small organization working to help vulnerable wildlife through rescue, medical care, rehabilitation, conservation, and education. We help wildlife that are sick, injured, abandoned, displaced, or otherwise in need of assistance, when we have the ability and resources to do so. We provide appropriate medical care, temporary shelter, nutrition, and rehabilitation for animals that need support. When an animal is healthy, prepared, and considered suitable for release, we work toward a responsible return to an appropriate natural environment. For animals that cannot safely be released, we seek to provide appropriate care and protection.
We also assist wildlife in urgent situations where immediate care may be needed.

Wildlife Education and Community Awareness  
We believe that protecting wildlife involves more than helping animals after they are injured or in danger. It also involves helping people understand wildlife and encouraging responsible treatment of wild animals.
WCPO works to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and encourage people to respect animals, their natural behaviors, and their habitats. We believe that education, community involvement, and responsible wildlife practices can help reduce harm to wildlife and encourage greater care for Cambodia's natural environment.

Working Together
As a small organization, we value the support and cooperation of local communities, volunteers, authorities, and others who care about wildlife. We try to work together where possible to support wildlife protection and promote responsible practices that benefit both wildlife and the communities that live alongside them.

Our Commitment
We do not have all the resources we would like to have, and there is still much work to be done. We continue to learn, grow, and do what we can with the resources available to us. Through our rescue, rehabilitation, education, and community work, we hope to make a small but meaningful contribution to the protection of wildlife in Cambodia. Our aim is simple: to help wildlife in need, treat animals with respect and compassion, and give them a second chance whenever we can. Together, with the support of people who care about wildlife, we can do a little more for the animals that need our help.
